Tony Martinez is a professor of Computer Science at Brigham Young University in the Computer Science Department. He directs the Neural Network and Machine Learning Laboratory in the BYU PhD/MS program. His main research interests are in machine learning, neural networks, massively parallel algorithms and architectures, and non von Neumann computing methods. Taylor Archibald, a Ph.D. candidate and Instructor of Computer Science at Brigham Young University, possesses a rich academic and professional background. Taylor’s work includes leading innovative projects in various domains, such as handwriting recognition, synthetic document creation, health analysis through smart technology, and economic consulting. His diverse portfolio consists of creating artistic QR codes via GANs, designing a novel chatbot, ScamBaiterBot, and developing TRACE, a state-of-the-art methodology for line-level stroke recovery in handwritten text. Taylor’s dissertation research on transcription and annotation of heterogeneous documents promises a significant contribution to the field of document analysis. His work experiences at Ancestry, Medic Life, and earlier consultancy roles provide a robust foundation for real-world applications of machine learning and data analytics. He has taught CS 472 “Introduction to Machine Learning” and regularly supervises undergraduate research in CS 497R.
