Welcome to C S 497R - Undergraduate Research

This course provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in research activities under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

Course Description

Students receive course credit for doing undergraduate research under the supervision of a faculty mentor.

Research Topics

• Document Semantic Segmentation: Applying deep learning to segment and classify different elements within scanned documents.
• Handwriting Recognition: Utilizing recurrent neural networks to decode handwritten content into digital text.
• Historical Document Processing: Techniques for enhancing and understanding ancient manuscripts and texts.
• Data Integrity Assurance: Algorithms to detect and correct errors and inconsistencies in digitized documents.
